It Comes, It Goes

OK so the forecast was off by 8 days..We finally received the first snow fall since last spring on Tuesday. It was a lot of fun to see it falling from the sky and blanketing the trees (since it was very wet snow). But almost as nice, especially since it is still technically fall and not yet winter, was the fact that within 24 hours it was essentially gone. A perfect illustration of why this climate is so great!

Contrary to the common perception (especially by West Coasters) that Denver is in the Midwest and gets snow like Minnesota does, we actually have more sunny days than nearly anywhere in the country. The snow rarely falls for more than two consecutive days and usually lasts on the ground no more than four days. This is one of the reasons I can see why Pat Bowlen is so bent that the NFL will not even entertain for a minute the idea of a Super Bowl in Denver.

Anyway, it's getting late so I better sign off. By the way, it was around 60 degrees today and beautiful. But some weather blew in this evening and it is drizzling. And what does tomorrow have in store? The forecast is for snow..

Snow Time Like the Present

Wow, it sure has been a loooong time, hasn't it?!

I really hadn't planned on the extended hiatus but life happens, you know? I don't have an essay up my sleeve this evening but felt compelled to write because one of my favorite things about Colorado is due to commence any moment now..Yes, the first snow of the season is set to hit the Front Range!

There are all sorts of things that have transpired since my last post so I am hoping I'll get my act together and revive this blog with some new content in the coming days.

Goodnight!
