Feeling Better About Biden

   Having had nearly 24 hours now to digest the reality that Obama picked Biden as his running mate I am feeling a little better about the choice.

   I watched a fair portion of their joint appearance in Springfield this afternoon and have to say I am impressed.

   Though a true "career politician", I think Biden will serve well as the attack dog in the campaign and will have no problems either going after his friend, Senator McCain, or going toe-to-toe with whomever McCain ultimately selects as his running mate.

   Yes, like McCain, Biden is old. But he is not running for president on this ticket. And yes, he is a SIX-term senator but he is not a rich guy.

   I'm sure all the things he's ever done wrong, in public, and in private, will be brought to light in the next two months by the GOP attack machine but I think he'll do just fine.
